P.D.M.U

This week in P.D.M.U we were thinking about ‘worry’. We realised we all can worry at different times, about different things. Even big people can worry! Together we thought of different things we can do if we get worried. We thought of a super list. We chatted about who we could go to in school if we are worried. To end our lesson we did a yoga class. We used Cosmic Yoga  ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿป‍โ™‚๏ธ  ๐Ÿง˜‍โ™€๏ธ on you Tube. It was so much fun! โ˜บ๏ธ

Measuring with Metres

Today we realised measuring with our hands and feet is not accurate as they are all different sizes. We looked at the metre stick and measured parts of our school in metres. We all enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ˜

Researching Blackbeard on Newsdesk.

This week we have been learning about a famous pirate called Blackbeard. He was really naughty. Today with a partner we were reading about Blackbeard and writing down the facts.

Pirate Fun in Primary 3.
Our new topic is all about Pirates. This week we have thought about what we would like to learn about Pirates. Our activity based learning has been great fun. We have been dressing up and battling, creating new pirate flags, building pirate ships with Lego and on Minecraft and playing games. P3 is a very busy room!

We were very busy today. We were adding tens and units with exchange.

Halves and quarters with tasty treats!
Today we were investigating halves and quarters with shapes and tasty treats. We learnt that when we cut something in half both sides have to be the same size and also 1 whole becomes 2 smaller parts. When we were cutting our pancakes in quarters we learnt there were 4 parts the same size.

This year we sadly had no big performance. We great fun learning the words to this Christmas song. We hope it makes you smile. We had lots of giggles. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽ„

Today we were scientists exploring camouflage.

Our class topic is about Animals. We have looked at habitats and now we are learning about camouflage. We learnt camouflage is when an animal blends in with their surroundings so they can not be seen. Today we pretended to be scientists. We got a piece of coloured card and we had to find things in the playground the same / similar colour. We had to look very closely at the objects for detail we wouldn’t normally see.

This week we have been learning about fables. We focused on the story, โ€˜The Boy Who Cried Wolfโ€™. We realised this story has a great message, โ€˜Do not tell lies, or people will not believe you when you tell the truthโ€™. We also studied the play-script of the story and looked at the features. We got our roles and loved being actors and actresses. We also made our masks. The children all did very well. ๐Ÿ˜€

Today we interviewed Dorothy to find out what school was like when she was younger!

This week we have been measuring with our bodies - hands and feet!

Place value learning

Today we were looking for interesting objects in our playground. We then had to decide how we were going to sort them out.

Today we had fun playing hopscotch! A game from the past.

Investigating roots!

Hunting for natural and man made features in our playground!

First day at school! Hooray!
