Learning about SPACE was lots of fun! We made planets, aliens, flying saucers, rockets and moon rock. There was lots of opportunity for us to develop our skills as we used paint, clay, pencils, stickle bricks, k’nex and loose parts among other things to build and create.
This week was Anti-Bullying week. As part of our preventative curriculum we celebrated individuality by participating in “Odd Socks Day”. We talked lots about how everyone is different, just like our socks. Later in the week we spent some time discussing different behaviours through stories and activities. Together we sorted some behaviours into groups of good choices and not good choices. We talked lots about how good choices make everyone happy 😊 and how bad choices make everyone sad 😢. We all agreed that we like to be happy! 😊
We’ve had a very busy week and learned so much with the help of some orange pumpkins. We have been developing our fine manipulative skills and have had to concentrate lots to use the hammers and nails and our hand eye coordination has been put to the test! We had great fun using our senses to smell the pumpkin and explore the slippery seeds inside. Our pumpkins were different sizes so we got to practice lots of early mathematical language such as smallest, bigger and biggest as well as heavy and heaviest etc. We hope you like our paintings - we had great fun creating them 🎃
